MILLINOCKET, Maine — A local woman found some good luck in a scratch ticket and won its top prize, $50,000, a state lottery offiwcial said Friday.

The woman turned in a winning Super-Duper Crossword lottery ticket on Monday, Jan. 24, that she had purchased at Rideout’s Market, said Tim Poulin, director of operations for the state Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations.

Several large-value winning tickets have been purchased at Rideout’s through the years. A woman won a $50,000 Solid Gold Crossword scratch ticket that she paid $3 for in December 2009. A Lincoln man won $800,000 from a winning Powerball ticket that he purchased in April 2006.

Located on Somerset Street, Rideout’s is near Millinocket Regional Hospital and draws a lot of vacationers and forest products industry workers.
