Green gives EMCC win over CMCC

BANGOR — Thelbert Green hit a layup from the lane with 19.2 seconds left to provide what would be the winning basket in a 70-69 men’s basketball victory over Central Maine Community College of Auburn Wednesday night.

But the win came only after the Mustangs missed two shots in the final 15 seconds.

Jephthe Dubois and Casey Reynolds each scored 16 points for the Eagles, who trailed by 16 in the second half. Mike Baltimore scored 15 points, Green had 12, and Edson Pierre added 11.

Bronson Drewry scored 15 points, Nick Hinkley added 11, and Curtis Miller scored 10 for the Mustangs.

Marissa McLeod added nine points for the Golden Eagles.

Danielle McCusker led CMCC with 19 points, while Teira Durgin scored 15, Danielle Hebert scored 14 and Jaime Swart added 13.

At Machias, Emily Moore flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 12 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists as the Owls earned the road win.

Megan Korhonen added 11 points and seven rebounds for Maine-Presque Isle, while Rashell Saucier scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Sabree Rodriguez led Maine-Machias with 20 points and six rebounds, while Dana Houghton added 16 points and nine rebounds.
