LINCOLN, Maine — A Greenbush woman suffered minor injuries when her SUV hit a patch of ice on Transalpine Road and rolled over on Monday night, police said Tuesday.

Ashley Cox, 27, was driving southeast on Transalpine at about 6:45 p.m. when her 1999 Toyota 4-Runner hit the ice and spun into the opposite lane, hit a snowbank and rolled over, Police Chief Scott Minckler said.

Cox was able to walk away from the accident, possibly because she was wearing a seat belt, Minckler said.

Cox was not cited for any infraction because of the icy conditions on the road.

The road was so icy in Monday night’s subzero temperatures that firefighters and police at the accident scene had difficulty walking on it, Minckler said.

The Toyota had minor damage, Minckler said.
