PORTLAND, Maine — The Coast Guard says a fire aboard a 67-foot fishing vessel in Casco Bay was doused by the Portland Fire Department.

The city’s fire boat and a Coast Guard lifeboat and rescue boat were dispatched at 11:24 a.m. Tuesday to the scene between Great Chebeague and Crow Island.

Coast Guard Chief Rob Childress said the Deborah Lee was at anchor, and no one was aboard at the time.

Tuesday evening, the fire boat was still at the scene in the event of flareups, and the Coast Guard was monitoring for pollution. Childress says the boat had about 150 gallons of fuel and oil.
