Hollywood Slots personnel called Bangor police on Sunday night to say a wanted Bangor man was in the establishment, but when officers arrived the man denied that was his identity, Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.
Alexander Pelkey, 26, of Bangor “kept giving a different name all the way to jail,” he said.
When police arrived at Hollywood Slots at around 8:15 p.m., they found “a wallet that was dropped on the floor” with Pelkey’s identification inside, and after running his name through their computer, found he was wanted, Edwards said.
He was charged with unsworn falsification and arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a felony operating after suspension charge. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail. He was sentenced to nine months in jail in court on Monday, a jail official said.
