Brunswick heating fuel company closes after 84 years

The Associated Press

BRUNSWICK, Maine — A heating fuel company in Brunswick has closed its doors after 84 years in business.

Thibeault Energy announced the closing in a recorded telephone message Saturday, blaming the shutdown on reasons “beyond our control.”

The Times Record of Brunswick reported earlier that numerous customers called the newspaper last week to complain that the company had failed to fulfill prepaid contracts for heating oil and propane because it had run out of fuel.
