St. Joseph’s men tip Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Tyler Kelley made a steal and converted a conventional three-point play with 22.7 seconds left to give St. Joseph’s College the lead for good in a key Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory over Albertus Magnus.
The Falcons missed two 3-point attempts in the closing seconds to come up short.
Kelley went 7-for-7 from 3-point range on his way to a game-high 32 points to help the Monks of Standish assume first place in the GNAC at 6-1.
Zach O’Brien tossed in 21 points and Chris Petzy tallied 17 for the Monks, who went 14-for-22 from 3-point distance.
Ray Askew led Albertus Magnus with 29 points. Darius Watson netted 20 and Zach Dugas added 12.

At Standish, Lindsay Moore posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the Monks’ GNAC victory over the Wildcats.
Megan McDevitt and Ashley Geel scored 12 points each for Saint Joseph’s and Abby Young added 11.
Morgan WIlson and Ayla Walter tallied 10 points each for Johnson and Wales of Providence, R.I.
