MILBRIDGE — The Maine Medical Examiner’s Office stated Thursday that Mary Kelly, 58, of Milbridge, whose body was found Tuesday along the Narraguagus River shoreline, drowned.
The manner of death, state personnel said, was suicide.
Kelly last was seen Friday morning at the Milbridge post office while dropping off her mail, according to police.
She was reported missing Monday morning by a co-worker who called the Milbridge Police Department.
Kelly owned Kelley’s Flower Shop in Milbridge and lived in a residence above the business, according to a press release from the Maine Warden Service.
Maine Marine Patrol officers assisted in the search using two boats and the Maine Warden Service assisted with a search by air. The pilot of the plane spotted Kelly’s body from the air.
The Maine Warden Service initially said there was no suspicion of foul play.
