Our staff will keep you updated on the snowstorm hitting parts of the state. Believe it or not, people are using equipment to make snow in Aroostook County to prepare the courses for the upcoming World Cup Biathlon competitions.

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court will hear oral arguments Thursday in an appeal from convicted murderer Jeffrey Cookson. He is asking that clothes worn by a man who claimed to have killed the woman and toddler Cookson was convicted of murdering be tested for DNA. The Maine Attorney General’s Office argued in its brief that because the clothes were not given to police until two years after the slaying, the chain of custody as defined by Maine law was not maintained. Those involved with the effort to sell the East Millinocket and Millinocket paper mills to a new owner are happy that Rosaire Pelletier, Maine’s senior forest products adviser, is staying on from the Baldacci administration to assist new Gov. Paul LePage. We’ll update you on the status of the mills and what those closest to the negotiations are saying. Reporter: Nick Sambides Jr.

The Logiodice family of Pittsfield adopted two children from Haiti last year just after the devastating earthquake. We touch base with them to see how the kids are adapting to life in Maine and get their thoughts on the continuing disaster in Haiti. Reporter: Chris Cousins

In our Lifestyle section, we talk to two sisters from Mattanawcook Junior High School about using the WinterKids Passport to ski the big ski mountains in Maine for free. Winterkids, a Portland-based nonprofit organization, was founded in 1997 and provides passes and passports to Maine children from preschool through 7th grade that get them free or discounted tickets to 50 Maine outdoor winter recreation centers.
