BANGOR — Maine’s Travel & Adventure Expo, an inaugural three-day event designed to highlight vacation and adventure options in Maine and surrounding regions, is slated for April 1-3 at the Bangor Civic Center. Event organizers hope to have at least 50 vendors from around Maine, New England, and the Canadian Maritimes, to show off regional attractions that may appeal to local vacationers.
“Our state alone has so much to offer,” says show producer Bret Blanchard. “We have hiking for every experience level with amazing views; we have white-water rafting with adventurous rapids; we have skydiving, biking, canoeing, kayaking, skiing, snowmobiling, and spectator sports that would please everyone. And we’re a gateway to the rest of New England and Maritime Canada. Both regions have similar offerings and are unique in their own ways. Our goal is to gather a group of vendors together who represent what this entire region has to offer for people who live here. We have a tremendous natural playground here in our backyard.”
Booths are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The all-inclusive pricing includes an opening night reception, a complimentary champagne reception on the second night of the expo, electricity and setup for their booth, and pre-show promotion.
“Putting together an event like this for the first time can be challenging,” said Blanchard, “but we have already seen strong support from some well-known Maine businesses and the New Brunswick region as well. There is a good group of vendors already on board with room for more, We have exciting presentations planned and some amazing door prizes. The time is right for this type of an event, and we look forward to bringing it to Bangor this spring.”
Blanchard said that vendors who sign up for the inaugural expo will lock in their pricing for the first three years, should they choose to return to the event. Interested businesses and organizations should visit www.firstlightshows.com for vendor and sponsorship information and pricing.
