Does fluoride in drinking water pose a health threat?

Federal officials believe some public drinking water supplies include too much fluoride, a mineral added to promote the healthy development of teeth. Does fluoride have any place in public water supplies? Should it be eliminated, and perhaps those who want it can add

it in pill form? Is it a threat to health? Or a communist plot?
