Bates women dominate MMA

LEWISTON — The Bates College Bobcats received scoring contributions from 11 different players as they rolled past to a 77-40 women’s basketball win over the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners Friday night.

Christine McCall paced Bates College with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Taryn O’Connell scored 11. Annie Burns (eight assists, six steals) was among three Bobcats with nine points.

Maggie Smith tossed in a game-high 15 points to pace Maine Maritime Academy of Castine. Leah Jackson contributed seven points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Bates notched 21 assists, while MMA committed 30 turnovers.
