WINTERPORT – Robert C. McDougall, 61, passed away Jan. 5, 2011, at home with his family at his side. He is now in peace with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born Aug. 18, 1949, in St. Paul, Minn., son of Gordon and Joyce (Wager) McDougall. Bob devoted his life to Christ and spreading the Word. His faith and trust in the Lord was his passion and he was never shy about sharing the Scripture with everyone he met. Bob enjoyed the outdoors and spent many weekends hiking, camping or fishing with his sons. He also enjoyed supporting his sons and grandchildren in all of their sports and activities. After high school, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army serving a tour of duty in Vietnam with the 82nd Air Borne. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail clerk in Akron, Ohio, and Winterport, and as a letter carrier in Bangor for many years. Bob was blessed with his wife of 39 years, Susan, whom he met at age 15 and would have celebrated their 40th anniversary in March; four sons, Joshua and his wife, Allyson, of Bath, Shawn and his wife, Alicia, of Hampden, Shane and his wife, Vanessa, of Caribou, and Jeffrey of Winterport; grandchildren, Reece, Ava, Keenan, Anabelle, Hunter, Charlotte, Kayla, Kadence and Landon; two sisters, Sally Krosner and family of Montgomery, Ala., and Susan Ralston and family of Port Charlotte, Fla.; mother-in-law, Anna Brooker of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Barbara Brooker of Cambridge, Mass., and her two daughters, Mara and Carmen, Kathleen Wagner and family of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Sharon Biasella and family of Naples, Fla.; and brother-in-law, Paul Brooker and family of Stow, Ohio. Bob was predeceased by his mother, father; brothers, Roger, Ronnie and Gordon; and father-in-law, Robert C. Brooker. Family and friends are invited to visit 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. In keeping with Bob’s wishes, funeral services will be private.
