Campaign finance disclosure laws reveal that R. Donald Sussman, a hedge fund manager whose personal worth exceeds $1 billion, gave the most money to political campaigns in 2010. During the year, Mr. Sussman gave about $1.3 million to causes championed by Maine Democrats. Since 2002, he has donated more than $3.6 million on candidates, ballot questions and political action and party committees, according to reports. Mr.

Sussman is engaged to 1st District Member of Congress Chellie Pingree. Is he an example of the bad influence of money in politics? Is he seeking to influence legislation to help his interests? Or do you think he puts his money where his principles are?
