Maine grows warmer – good or bad news?

The National Weather Service reports that for 14 months in a row, Portland experienced warmer temperatures than those recorded the previous year. What do you make of this trend? Is it evidence that global climate change is gathering momentum? How does such a change affect Maine? Will the state see benefits, like lower heating costs and less money spent on snow removal? Or will it mean diseases and pests that have never been able to survive in Maine will begin to gain a foothold?
