SCARBOROUGH, Maine — A Vassalboro man is facing a number of charges after a high-speed chase on Interstate 295 on Sunday night, police say.

Anthony Teabout, 41, of Vassalboro, is charged with operating under the influence, eluding police and being an aggravated habitual offender, according to a press from the Maine Department of Public Safety.

A trooper tried to stop Teabout at the exit 42 tollbooth because his car did have a license plate, according to the release. Teabout allegedly sped off in his 2006 Dodge Charger, reaching speeds of 100 mph, the release stated. The chase ended two miles later in Scarborough when Teabout crashed into the rear of 34-year-old Danielle Bailey’s minivan.

Both Teabout’s and Bailey’s vehicles were demolished, according to the release. Teabout is being treated at Maine Medical Center in Portland for facial and rib injuries. Three of four passengers in Bailey’s minivan were children; two sustained minor injuries.

Teabout has four prior convictions for driving with a suspended driver’s license, the release stated.
