Special Olympics event raises record $101,000

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine — Hundreds of brave Mainers have raised a record amount for Special Olympics Maine by diving into the cold ocean waters off Old Orchard Beach in the annual Lobster Dip fundraiser.

According to WGME-TV, 371 participated in the 22nd annual Lobster Dip on Saturday, raising $101,000 in pledges.

The Lobster Dip is Maine’s original and largest cold-water fundraiser.
