Shapleigh Middle School principal resigns after OUI arrest

KITTERY, Maine — The principal at Shapleigh Middle School has resigned after an OUI arrest in December.

Misty McBrierty, 36, resigned Friday. It was not announced whether her resignation was because of her early morning arrest on Dec. 18 in Massachusetts on charges of operating under the influence, failure to signal and failure to stop/yield.

Traip Academy principal Wanda Avery, who previously has served as Shapleigh Middle School principal, will fill the position, according to Seacoast Online.
