Police seeking stolen ‘Welcome to Portland’ sign

PORTLAND, Maine — Police are seeking help in finding a “Welcome to Portland” sign that was stolen in December.

Portland Police say the sign, which was at the intersection of Fore River Parkway and West Commercial Street, is 5 feet by 8 feet and weighs about 100 pounds. It was carved out of a single piece of wood and painted with gold leaf and is valued at $3,500, WLBZ reported.
