A Sanford Street woman was given a warning early Sunday to lower the noise level of a party she was hosting, but the noise continued, and Bangor police returned and arrested her, Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.

Rachel Brooks, 46, was given a disorderly conduct warning around 12:25 a.m. and was arrested for disorderly conduct six hours later, he said.

“She was given a warning for the party and the noise, and [officers] had to go back at 6:30 a.m., and she was arrested,” Edwards said. “Six hours later, she was still at it.”

A Bangor woman who was given a disorderly conduct warning on New Year’s Eve was arrested early on Jan. 1 after she refused to cooperate with police who were investigating a fight involving her, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.

When police tried to interview Melinda Manjourea, 42, about an altercation at the Main Tavern in downtown Bangor at around 2 a.m., she became upset and began yelling at them, he said.

“She started swearing and being loud about being confronted,” Edwards said.

Manjourea was arrested for disorderly conduct, taken to Penobscot County Jail and later released, he said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
