Brewer man charged with drunken driving
A Brewer man was spotted by a police officer early Friday morning driving erratically. The officer stopped the man and found that he was driving drunk, Brewer police Sgt. David Lord said.
Leonard Partridge, 39, was on Chamberlain Street when Cpl. Nelson Ferro stopped him at 1:17 a.m. Partridge, who was out on bail and driving with a suspended license, failed a field sobriety test, Lord said.
Partridge’s blood alcohol level was tested using an Intoxilyzer and the results exceeded the state’s legal limit of 0.08. “He was well over the limit,” Lord said.
Partridge was arrested and charged with operating under the influence and violating his bail conditions. He also was given a ticket for operating after suspension, Lord said. He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and will remain there until at least Monday, a jail official said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
