AUGUSTA, Maine — Newly released video in Maine shows federal agents in a shootout that led to the death of a motorcycle gang member.

In the video, gunshots can be heard and white smoke is seen rising from the Old Orchard Beach home after agents arrived to arrest 58-year-old Thomas Mayne on June 15. The agents can be seen moving around and crouching behind cars.

Mayne was killed in the shootout with agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. He was one of 27 Outlaws members from many states charged with crimes ranging from attempted murder to racketeering.

On Tuesday, the Maine attorney general’s office ruled the shooting justified.

Agents fired twenty rounds, hitting Mayne in the neck and head, killing him.

The investigation says Mayne fired six shots at the agents.
