Amtrak cancels trains between NY, Maine amid storm

WASHINGTON — Amtrak has canceled train service from New York to Maine as a major snowstorm hits the Northeast.

Crews will be working through the night to clear the tracks. Amtrak did not say when it expects service to resume.

The affected routes are between Boston and New York City and between Boston and Portland, Maine.

Trains also were canceled Sunday between Richmond and Newport News, Va.

Service between New York and Washington was not affected.
