Christmas Eve fire strikes home in Albion

ALBION, Maine — Firefighters from five towns battled flames from the inside and the outside of a double-wide mobile home here on Christmas eve.

According to the Morning Sentinel newspaper, no injuries were reported by Friday night.

Witnesses told the newspaper that the same family had survived a house fire about five years ago.

Firefighters from Albion, Winslow, Fairfield, Freedom and China responded to the fire. According to the Sentinel, one Albion firetruck slid off Bog Road and into a ditch on its way to the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital.
