Savoy 65th Anniversary

BREWER – James and Hazel Savoy were married Dec. 18, 1945, in Brewer, during the war while James was on leave from the U.S. Navy. James and Hazel celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family luncheon and enjoyed a two-week family reunion with daughter Vicki and her husband, Callie Fisher, visiting from Texas. James was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II, on the Wasp Aircraft Carrier and received a Purple Heart. He retired after 25 years from the Brewer Post Office and Hazel retired from the Bangor Drug Co. Hazel enjoyed line dancing for many years, James attends Bone Builders and they enjoy playing cards. They have two daughters, Vicki Fisher of Texas and Janice Peavey of Bangor, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. They enjoy living at their home in Brewer with their two beloved cats, Susie and Sophie.
