Three teens charged with arson in New Gloucester fire

NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine — Three 13-year-old boys have been charged with arson after fire destroyed a vacant New Gloucester house over the weekend.

The boys, from Gray and New Gloucester, allegedly started a fire in the basement of the house on 5 Missy Lane, a raised ranch owned by a financial institution, according to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety. The building, which had been vacant for three years, was severely damaged and has now been demolished, the press release stated. The boys have been released into the custody of their parents.
