Amber Smith (University of Main fresman), women’s basketball rookie, led the Black Bears with 12.5 points per game last week.

Hockey East

Brian Flynn (University of Maine junior), men’s hockey, had a hat trick in Maine’s 4-1 win over Massachusetts Sunday and scored a goal in Maine’s 4-3 overtime loss to New Hampshire Friday.

North Atlantic Conference

Eric Taylor (University of Maine at Farmington senior from Oakland), men’s basketball co-player with Castleton’s Jared Paul, averaged 17.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 5.0 blocks in a 2-2 week while surpassing 1,000 career points in Saturday’s 66-51 win over the U-New England.

NESCAC

Kyle Shearer-Hardy (Bowdoin College senior), men’s hockey, scored three goals in leading the Polar Bears in two straight nights over Colby.

Maine Men’s Basketball Coaches and Writers Association

Will Hanley (Bowdoin College junior), co-player, averaged 21.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.0 blocks in three wins.

Corteze Isaac (University of Southern Maine senior), co-player, also Little East Conference player of the week, scored season-high 31 points in a 79-78 loss to Keene State. Also scored 25 points in a win over UM-Farmington.

Dom Drake (Maine Maritime Academy first-year from Brewer), co-rookie, averaged 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 5.0 steals in a 1-1 week.

Kevin Loiselle (University of Maine at Farmington first-year), co-rookie, averaged 17.7 points and 6.3 rebounds in a 2-1 week.

New England Women’s Basketball Association

Erin McNamara (University of Southern Maine freshman), rookie, averaged 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in a 2-0 week.

Little East Conference

Hannah Patterson (University of Southern Maine junior), women’s field athlete, won two evens, weight throw and shot put, and set one school record over the weekend. She set the school record in the weight throw with a heave of 49 feet, 9½ inches, besting Kelly Busby’s 2002 mark by nearly two feet.

Matt Harmon (University of Southern Maine senior from Auburn), men’s field athlete, won two evens, the shot put and weight throw, at the Bowdoin Preseason Invitational.

New England Wrestling Association

Travis Spencer (University of Southern Maine sophomore from Belfast), wrestling, posted a 3-0 record after helping the Huskies to its first dual meet victory of the season.
