BLUE HILL – Geraldine Beulah Bragdon, 70, passed away Dec. 9, 2010, in Blue Hill, after a brief, courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born Sept. 2, 1940, in Castine, the daughter of Linwood and Helen (Perkins) Leach. Gerry attended grammar school in Penobscot and graduated from George Stevens Academy in 1958. She married Manley E. Bragdon, April 15, 1960, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage this past April. Gerry was well known for her love of plants and flowers and had beautiful gardens at her home, which were admired by many. She enjoyed growing her own seedlings in her greenhouse, which she would share with many of her friends. She enjoyed sewing and knitting and was an accomplished cake decorator, which she did for many years, making beautiful birthday and wedding cakes for family and friends. She was a member of Red Hat Society and queen of the Blue Hill Babes. Gerry is survived by her husband, Manley of Blue Hill; daughter, Tina Gray and husband, Jeff, of Sedgwick; son, Dana Bragdon and wife, Joy, of Blue Hill; grandchildren, Matthew Gray and wife, Hannah, of Sedgwick, Garret Bragdon and partner, Amanda, of Blue Hill and Autumn Bragdon and fiance, Jeremy, of Blue Hill; great-grandchildren, Ava Gray of Sedgwick and Oliver Peasley of Brooksville; brother, Fernald Leach and wife, Drucy, of Blue Hill; and a very special friend and sister-in-law, Mary Allen and husband, Ronald, of Blue Hill. She was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Noreen Leach. A celebration of life and committal service will be held in the spring.
