Capt. Tim Clark (cq) of the Salvation Army of Bangor arranges donated Christmas gifts for needy families on a grid in the Salvation Army's gym Tuesday morning, Dec. 7, 2010. Capt. Clark and wife Capt. Evelyn Clark, and asistants used tape to divide the gym floor into squares to accomodate family's wish-specific " Angel Tree" gifts--each square representing a family they serve. By Tuesday morning, 254 area families had signed up for assistance. With the hope of serving around 350 families (as the Salvation Army of Bangor did last year) they have extended the Christmas assistance application deadline to today (Wed., Dec. 8). If a family can not meet the Wednesday deadline, they can call the Salvation Army's main number (941-2990) in Bangor to make an appointment to submit an application.
