BURNHAM, Maine — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office said that a Pittsfield man was arrested Friday night after being accused of breaking into a Burnham home and attacking a man inside.

Johnny A. Roeske, 44, was charged with aggravated criminal trespass, terrorizing and assault after a Burnham woman reported to police at 10:10 p.m. that he was assaulting her roommate, according to Chief Deputy Robert Keating.

When Waldo County Sheriff’s Office personnel arrived at the Morgan Road home, they heard from residents that Roeske had forced his way inside and then “started swinging” at the man.

But when Deputy Dan Greeley made contact with Roeske in Pittsfield, he denied allegations that he had forced his way inside and told police that he was defending himself.

No further information was available, Keating said.
