FORT KENT – Loretta Perreault, 88, beloved wife of the late Everette L. Perreault, died Dec. 2, 2010, at a Fort Kent residential care facility. She was born Aug. 9, 1922, in Wallagrass, daughter of Hilaire and Hattie (Gagnon) Dube. Loretta was a member of Catholic Order of Foresters, Wallagrass. During World War II, she worked at South Portland Shipyard as a riveter. For years she worked side-by-side with her husband while operating a business selling and repairing Homelite chainsaws and building steel truck bodies for area lumber trucks. During those years she enjoyed being a member of Business Professional Women Organization. In her earlier years she enjoyed being on a bowling league and was quite competitive, as well as playing shuffleboard. Playing cards was always a favored pastime, but baking was definite enjoyment. Many of the children who lived away would often leave with banana bread or some other treat after visiting with her. You never left empty handed! Loretta is survived by her five children: daughters, Ann Cannan and husband, Pat, of Eagle Lake, Bernadette Michaud and husband, Carl, of Lusby, Md., Marguerite Loheed and husband, Robert, of Yarmouth and Everil Perreault of Scarborough, and son, Marc Perreault of New Britain, Conn.; grandchildren, Lisa Kelly, Audrey Langley, Deborah Cannan, Chris Cannan, Dennis Michaud, Christine Bishop and Ben Bohrmann; great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Ryan Kelly, Jarrett Cannan, Emily and Ethan Colson, and Noah and Renee Michaud; and siblings, Noella Pinette, Artie Dube, Bernadette Dube, Leonard Dube and Elizabeth Russell. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Everette, in 2001; her loving son, Dale K. Perreault, in 2008; brothers, Williard, in 1920, Alcime, in 1983, and Rudolph, in 2007; and sisters, Antoinette Perreault, in 1988, Dorothy Sutherland, in 1998, Mildred Cote, in 1999, and Marie Richardson, in 2007. The family thanks Dr. Jo, Northern Maine Medical Center, Forest Hill Nursing Home and Crosswinds, who all gave her exceptional care when needed. Friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Wallagrass. Committal services will be held May 16, 2011, at the parish cemetery. Those who wish may donate in her memory to University of Maine at Fort Kent, Nursing Program, 23 University Drive, Fort Kent, ME 04743; Crosswinds Activities Fund, 480 Ridgeview Ave., Madawaska, ME 04756 or Hospice of Aroostook, P.O.
