BELFAST, Maine — Police arrested a Bangor man on Thursday after he allegedly went on a shoplifting spree in several local stores.

Cote S. Cosgro, 19, of Kennebec Place in Bangor was charged with two counts of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer from Reny’s and from Olympia Sports and one count of attempted unauthorized taking from Aaron’s Rental Center on Starrett Drive, according to a report from the Belfast Police Department.

Officer Wendall Ward arrested Cosgro, who was then taken to Waldo County Jail to be booked.

A Belfast policeman said Sunday that the incident remains under investigation and that more arrests are expected.
