The non-profit George Mateljan Foundation recently posted on its website suggestions for healthy eating while at work. The website, whfoods.org — for The World’s Healthiest Foods — offers some pretty good ideas. One suggestion was this: “A lunch of precut crudités from the market (carrots, peppers, celery, etc.), a can of salmon, sardines or tuna, a single serving packet of dressing, and some whole wheat crackers is another option. ”
But we thought you could do better.
So what do you take for lunch when you are determined to eat right and skip the chips? Do you bring in leftovers from last night’s dinner, a salad or a yogurt (and what happens at 3:30 pm when you’re really hungry again)?
Here are some office lunch ideas we’ve heard recently:
Hard boiled eggs
Soybean butter or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
Mini bagels and cream cheese
Cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches
Pasta and sauce
