DOVER-FOXCROFT – Beverly P. Kaufman, 70, passed away peacefully Nov. 24, 2010, with her family at her bedside at home, after fighting a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born March 24, 1940, in Dexter, daughter of Barbara (Gray) Garnett. She attended schools in Corinna and graduated from Corinna Union Academy, Class of 1958. Beverly met her husband, Roger, in Dexter and was married for 51 years. She and Roger traveled throughout Europe and the U.S. with the military. They lived in many places before they established their home in Dover-Foxcroft. Beverly was an avid quilter and member of Memory Makers Quilt Group. She made many quilts and gave them away to family and friends. Her greatest joy was doing things with her children and grandchildren, and during her last year, as long as her health permitted, she cherished the times she was able to baby sit her great-grandson, Beckett. Beverly is survived by her husband, Roger Kaufman of Dover-Foxcroft; her children, Jeffrey of Millinocket, Douglas and his wife, Ute, of Germany and Kelly Phillips and her husband, Anthony, of Dover-Foxcroft; two grandchildren, Megan and her husband, Ryan Taylor, and Chad Phillips; a great-grandchild, Beckett Taylor; two sisters and a brother, Vivian Wilson and her husband, Punky, Candy Beem and her husband, Morris, and Carlton Garnett and his wife, Carol; many aunts and uncles, including a very special aunt, Gena Tuttle and her husband, Louis, of Newport. A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at Dover-Foxcroft Con-gregational Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
