Dr. Clifford Rosen, an internationally recognized expert in bone disease, will present a lecture titled “What’s New in Bone and Fat” at the Gracie Theatre at Husson University at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2010. The event is part of the Dean’s Lecture Series at Husson and is free and open to the public.
Dr. Rosen is currently a senior scientist at the Maine Medical Center Research Institute in Scarborough, but is well known in the Bangor area. He is the founder and former director of the Maine Center for Osteoporosis Research and Education, an affiliate of St. Joseph Hospital. He also works as a senior staff scientist at the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor Maine. At MMCRI, Rosen oversees more than 12 clinical research trials. He has recently been investigating the link between bone and fat.
He is also past president of the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research, served 5 years as the first editor in chief of the Journal of Clinical Densitometry, and currently serves as associate editor of the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research. He has published more than 275 manuscripts in a variety of Journals.
