Planned power outage in Bangor rescheduled

BANGOR, Maine — A planned interruption in electrical service originally scheduled to begin at midnight on Monday has been postponed because of weather conditions.

The interruption now is scheduled to begin at midnight and run through 4 a.m. on Wednesday, according to Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. spokeswoman Susan Faloon.

Residents and businesses on the north side of Main Street will be affected, including the Freese’s Assisted Living facility and the Greyhound bus terminal, among others.

The interruption in electrical power is needed to safely enable upgrades of the underground electrical systems, Faloon said.

Questions may be directed to Bangor Hydro’s Customer Service Center at 800-440-1111.
