Free community Thanksgiving meals slated around region

BANGOR — Manna Ministries annual free Thanksgiving Day dinner, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Columbia Street Baptist Church. All are welcome to attend the family-style meal or volunteer to greet guests, set up, serve and clean. For information, call 990-2870.

BELFAST — Unitarian Universalist Church second annual Community Potluck Thanksgiving, 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25. All are invited to attend free of charge; no donations accepted. Turkey will be provided, but people are invited to bring a potluck offering, such as an appetizer, salad, vegetable, rolls, bread or dessert. No sermon will be delivered, but there will be a nondenominational Gratitude Circle after the dinner. For information, call 722-3383 or e-mail rooted@fairpoint.net.

BREWER — Beef ’O’ Brady’s free Thanksgiving Day dinner, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, Wilson Street. Seniors, those in need and police and fire officials working on the holiday are invited to attend the dinner. No reservations required.

CAMDEN — First Congregational Church free Thanksgiving Day dinner, 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, 55 Elm St. All are invited. Dinner underwritten by funds generated by Heavenly Threads. For information, call the church at 236-4821.

CAMDEN — St. Thomas Episcopal Church free Thanksgiving dinner, 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, in the Parish Hall, 33 Chestnut St. All welcome. Call the church at 236-3680 to sign up.

GUILFORD — Guilford United Methodist Church is offering a free Thanksgiving meal, noon-3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25. The church also is looking for food donations and volunteers. For information, call Kirsty Pratley at 876-4261.

LINCOLN — Gillmor’s Restaurant free Thanksgiving Day dinner, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25. The food is provided for free by the restaurant’s wholesale providers such as Pepsi Bottling Co., community contributions, local businesses and Lincoln’s food cupboard.

NORTHPORT — Nana’s Kitchen will provide a free Thanksgiving Day dinner, noon-4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, at 549 Atlantic Highway. Open to the public, first come, first served. Donations are accepted but not required and will go to the Belfast Soup Kitchen. For information, call Nana at 338-1524.

PATTEN — Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church free Thanksgiving Day meal for the community, noon Thursday, Nov. 25, at 7 Houlton St. in downtown Patten. Call Eve Rice at 528-2651 for information.

UNION — Thompson Community Center free Thanksgiving dinner, 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25. Come early to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and football, and to play games.
