Shortly after the bars closed Tuesday morning, a 40-year-old Eddington man called the Bangor Police Department to report that his car had been stolen from Center Street, Sgt. Paul Edwards said Tuesday afternoon.
“The complainant was intoxicated and he later located the vehicle on French Street,” he said.

A Hampden man was arrested Monday in his bed just hours after he was served with a protection from abuse order, Hampden Police Chief Joe Rogers said Tuesday.
Roger Porter, 36, was issued the protection order around noon and was told he couldn’t return to his home on Mayo Road. He left the area and returned intoxicated at 5:45 p.m. and went directly into a bedroom and went to sleep, Rogers said.
The person with the protection order “saw him coming and … went into the garage and called us,” he said.
When police arrived, Porter admitted to drinking and driving and was arrested for operating under the influence and violating the protection order, Rogers said. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail and remained there Tuesday afternoon. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
