VASSALBORO, Maine — For the second time this month, hunters have found a decomposed body in the state.
Maine State Police say the body was found Monday by hunters, near Route 32 in Vassalboro. Investigators say the body was so decomposed that they couldn’t tell whether it was a man or a woman.
There was no immediate indication of foul play.
On Nov. 5, hunters found a body a mile from Route 11 in Stacyville. Police say the man in that case was wearing a blue-and-white knit cap with the name “Chris” marked inside.
The medical examiner’s office has yet to determine identification or cause of death on the Stacyville body. Autopsy on the Vassalboro body was set for Tuesday.
