West soccer teams earn wins in Senior Bowl

The West all-stars claimed victories Sunday in both the girls and boys games in the 16th annual Maine Soccer Coaches Senior Bowl at Hampden.

The West Seniors topped the East 5-4 in the girls game while the West also won the boys game 6-4.

In the girls game, Emily Lane of Sacopee Valley scored two goals in leading the West Seniors. Gretel Breton of Greenville, Danielle Torres of Yarmouth and Karyn Barrett of Cape Elizabeth also scored. Windham’s Riley McCarthy, Jessica Diphilippo of Falmouth, Kylie Perrin of Gorham and Devin Simsarian of Yarmouth each had an assist. Sydney Proctor of Thornton Academy and Elizabeth Estabrook of Falmouth were the goalkeepers.

Randi London of Mount Ararat and Marlie Mochamer of Mt. Blue scored two goals apiece for the East. Brunswick’s Allison Walton had an assist. Julia Snyder of Hampden Academy, Jenn Day of Gardiner and Fort Kent’s Carissa Pelletier shared time in goal.

In the boys game, Luke Pierce of Yarmouth tallied two goals and an assist for the West team. Fazalhag Nabi of Portland and Dakota Duplissis of Maranacook of Readfield both had a goal and an assist. Richmond’s Mike Christie and Deering’s Charlie Dupee also scored. Tony DiAngelo of Greenville recorded an assist. Cam Brown of Cape Elizabeth and Mason Brewer of Wiscasset were in goal.

Jake Leithiser of Old Town and Bangor’s Luke Hetterman both scored twice for the East squad. Stephen Berenyi of Calvary Chapel Christian of Orrington and Josh Allen of Presque Isle each provided two assists. Tyler Alexander of Bangor Christian, Alex Charette of Fort Kent, Jordan Carter of Ellsworth and Codey Fabian of Lawrence of Fairfield shared time in goal.
