TOWSON, Md. — Pushaun Brown rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown that gave Maine the lead for good Saturday in a 28-18 victory over Towson.
Brown scored on a 2-yard run with 13:18 left in the third quarter, pushing the Black Bears (4-6, 3-4 Colonial Athletic Association) in front 13-7. It was immediately preceded by Mark Masterson’s 82-yard interception return.
Chris Treister gave Maine some breathing room on a 1-yard run with 2 minutes left in the quarter, but when the 2-point conversion attempt failed, the score remained 19-7.
The Tigers (1-9, 0-7) made it 19-10 on Nick Wallace’s 36-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter and were driving to cut the nine-point deficit even further midway through the period. But Trevor Coston intercepted a Bart Blanchard pass and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown, making it 26-10 with 6:09 to play.
