YORK, Maine — Maine State Police say a 50-year-old man was seriously injured when his car collided with a moose on the Maine Turnpike.

Cpl. Jerry Carr said Keith Hanson of Sabattus was driving north in York when the moose crashed through his windshield at about 7 p.m. Saturday.

Police said Hanson was seriously injured, but his condition was unavailable Sunday morning.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Hanson’s wife suffered injuries to her face and hands, but the couple’s 7-year-old daughter was unhurt.
