MACHIASPORT – Joan Kennedy Moore died Nov. 11, 2010, at a Bangor hospital, after a courageous fight with lung cancer. She was born Jan. 1, 1942, in Massachusetts, daughter of Walter R. and Evelyn (Marsh) Kennedy. Joan worked and retired from Down East Community Hospital as a dietitian. Joan was an avid outdoor person, who spent many hours hiking. She had a strong love for her German shepherd dogs. Joan will be sadly missed by Maude, the cat. Joan is survived by daughter, Evelyn Davis; a special granddaughter, Jordan Smith; her brother, Walter Kennedy and his wife, Claire; her sister, Carol Bailey and her husband, Alan; and nieces, Machelle Hutchins and her husband, John, Dianne Leach and her husband, Russell, Jill Kennedy and her friend, Larry Looke, Kara Rosen and her husband, David, Tammie Pinkham and her friend, Ray Santy, Nikki Desruisseaux and her husband, Brian, Alana Pryor and her husband, Jason, April Bailey, and Anne Irving and her husband, Timothy. She is also survived by special friends, Cheryl Preston, Tina Davis and Judy Farnsworth. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter R. and Evelyn Kennedy; her husband, Ralph Moore; brother, Samuel Kennedy; and granddaughter, Jennifer Davis. A private burial will be held at a later date.
