The city of Bangor is considering privatizing more downtown parking. Already, a private firm manages the city’s many parking garages. If the price is right, city councilors could make it happen, ending the police department’s oversight of the spaces on the streets. Reporter: Eric Russell

Rockland Middle School is hosting a special ceremony today to honor local veterans. Maine Adjutant General John W. Libby will attend the program which is part of the History Channel’s award-winning “Take a Veteran to School Day” program. Veterans’ stories will be recorded and archived at The Library of Congress. Two years ago, the state granted Eastern Maine Medical Center permission for a $250 million expansion of its inpatient facilities. There’s been no visible movement on the project. In a state Supreme Court hearing in Bangor today, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maine will appeal the decision of a lower court to uphold the ruling by Maine Insurance Commissioner Mila Kofman that allowed the company a zero percent profit margin in its individual coverage line for 2009.
