LEVANT – Athel Keith, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior Nov. 9, 2010, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Levant, the daughter of Earl and Hazel Phillips. Athel was a homemaker and raised her six children with great pride. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and attended Harvest Chapel, Levant. She enjoyed doing word find puzzles, flowers, camping, being outdoors and most of all, spending time with her family. Athel will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Surviving are her husband, Alden Keith Jr.; five children, David Keith of Corinth, Phillip Keith and his wife, Susan, Valerie Lord and her husband, Lester, Julie Phair and her husband, Mark, and John Keith and his wife, Sandy, all of Levant; 15 grandchildren, Cara Duchnowski, Scott McLeod, Marney McLeod, Kelly Coston, Aaron Keith, Kimberly Philbrook, Jody Henderson, Michelle Canelles, Travis Bemis, Brad Bemis, Matthew Phair, Michael Phair, Nicholas Phair, Jesse Keith and Meagan Keith; 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; a very special brother, John Phillips; and a very special sister-in-law, Dorothy Nickerson. She was predeceased by her parents; a son, Earl Keith Sr.; and a grandson, Earl Keith Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Harvest Chapel, Levant, with the Rev. Stephen Hall, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Waugh Cemetery, Levant.
