Maine State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a Jonesport man who has been missing for nearly a week.

Robert “Rob” Leighton, 26, had been involved in an argument at his home and last was seen walking away Saturday morning along Indian River Road in Jonesport, according to police. He also had been drinking at the time.

Relatives are concerned for his well-being, police said in a press release issued Wednesday requesting the public’s help.

Leighton is 6-foot-1, weighs 190 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.

State police notified other law enforcement agencies in Washington County during the past week along with the Maine Warden Service.

Anyone who may have seen Leighton in the past week or who has information about his location is asked to call state police in Orono at 866-2122 or 800-432-7381.
