Man charged after 7-hour standoff in Southern Maine

LIMINGTON, Maine — Police say a 29-year-old Maine man faces charges following a seven-hour standoff with police.

Maine State Police said Kevin Ridlon, of Limington, surrendered to police at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday. He was charged with criminal threatening and criminal mischief and taken to the York County Jail.

Police said Ridlon had been drinking when troopers went to his house on Route 25 at about 7:30 p.m. Monday after his girlfriend called claiming Ridlon had threatened her.

Nearly 30 state troopers responded to the standoff. Nobody was hurt.
