A Bangor man was arrested Sunday night after he allegedly punched his landlord in the arm during a dispute about his being evicted from his Hammond Street apartment.

It wasn’t the punch that got Garvin Gibbs, 53, arrested, however, it was the fact that he refused to sign the summons he was issued after he was charged with assault, Bangor police Lt. Tom Reagan said Monday night.

Gibbs, who was taken to Penobscot County Jail after his arrest, was released on bail on Monday, a jail official said. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)
