John Bapst rolls, to face MCI in semifinal

BANGOR — Jordan Charpentier completed three touchdown passes to three different receivers in leading the No. 2 John Bapst Crusaders to a 31-0 Eastern Maine Class C quarterfinal football victory over the No. 7 Rockland Tigers Saturday at Cameron Stadium.

John Bapst will host the No. 3 Maine Central Institute Huskies of Pittsfield in a semifinal next weekend.

Mark Dieuveuil caught a 42-yard pass in the first quarter from Charpentier for the Crusaders’ second touchdown. Max Andrews caught a 15-yard scoring pass, also in the first, and Lucas Philippon caught a 3-yard TD pass in the second. Charpentier was 4-for-6 passing for 60 yards.

Jake Leonard first put John Bapst on the board with a 1-yard scoring run. He had 15 carries for 120 yards.

Dieuveuil went 4-for-4 on extra-point kicks and was successful on a 30-yard field goal.

Max Andrews anchored the Crusaders’ defense with nine tackles with 3.5 sacks.

Dylan Andrews led Rockland rushers with 95 yards on five carries. Donald Prescott had seven receptions for 90 yards. The pair also led the defense as Prescott had seven solo tackles and three assists and Andrews added eight solo tackles with two assists.
