Presque Isle boys blank Mount View

PRESQUE ISLE — Jacob Player had a goal and an assist in the first half Wednesday afternoon as the third-ranked Presque Isle Wildcats earned a 4-0 boys soccer victory over No. 6 Mount View of Thorndike in an Eastern Maine Class B quarterfinal game.

Player set up Brandon Bonville for the first goal of the match, then scored off a nice assist from Sam Clukey to give Presque Isle a 2-0 halftime lead.

Wilder York scored on a feed from Josh Allen in the second half before Isaac LaJoie capped off the scoring on an assist from Caleb Mathers.

Andrew Kofstad and Cody Lyford combined to save all three shots they faced for 13-1-1 Presque Isle. Chris Montminony made 13 saves on 20 shots for Mount View, which ended its season with a 7-6-2 record.
